D.C. Teachers Night
The U.S. Botanic Garden and the D.C. Environmental Education Consortium (DCEEC) collaborate to bring DC area teachers together with the many environmental education opportunities in the Washington, D.C. area. DCEEC’s mission is “to bolster a network of environmental and conservation educators, increasing their capacity to provide meaningful environmental education for the residents of the District of Columbia.” The Friends of U.S. Botanic Garden is pleased to be connected with an DCEEC and their mission.
D.C. area teachers are invited to meet D.C. area environmental educators, to find out how to get their students learning about the outdoors, and how to bring the environment into the classroom.
The evening features 40 exhibitors with hands-on activities, lesson plans, and resources to bring back to their classroom. Teachers are able to learn about student and teacher field experiences, professional development opportunities, and much more while enjoying the beauty of the Conservatory.
Friends of the U.S. Botanic Garden proudly support this educational event and looks forward to future D.C. Teachers Nights to help promote its mission of educational outreach.
